As a provider of international cooperation services for sustainable development and international education work, we are dedicated to building a future worth living. We believe that only by combining social responsibility, ecological balance, political participation and economic capability will current and future generations be able to lead secure and dignified lives. Why does GIZ have a sustainability management system?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability is GIZ\u2019s guiding principle and forms the basis for its contributions to shaping a society that is fit for the future. We firmly believe that only by combining social responsibility \"\", ecological balance \"\" and economic capability \"\" will current and future generations be able to lead secure and dignified lives. The 2030 Agenda \"\" and the German Federal Republic\u2019s national sustainability strategy \"\" form the framework for GIZ\u2019s sustainability management system. BMZ, our main commissioning party and shareholder, has set itself the goal of becoming climate neutral by 2020. This includes GIZ too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GIZ engages in dialogue with its stakeholders \"\". It is a member of the German Global Compact Network<\/em> \"\", B.A.U.M e.V.<\/em> and the Biodiversity in Good Company initiative<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are fully transparent about our corporate sustainability activities and routinely publish reports that fulfil international standards such as the German Sustainability Code<\/em> \"\", the Global Compact<\/em> and the Global Reporting Initiative (G4)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German Sustainability Code is the responsibility of the German Council for Sustainable Development. Its aim is to assist companies in reporting on sustainability.
